Lower Antelope Canyon Closed For Maintenance January 17th-31st

By Alley Keosheyan / January 8, 2018

Lower Antelope Canyon will be temporarily closed for maintenance starting Wednesday, January 17th through Wednesday, January 31st. Routine cleaning and repairs will be performed on the stairs and in other areas of the canyon during this time. All existing reservations have been cancelled and the affected parties have already been contacted by the outfitters. The canyon will reopen for tours on Thursday, February 1st.

Please note that this closure does not affect Upper Antelope Canyon at all as it is a totally separate branch of the Canyon. If you’re visiting Page, Arizona during the closure period and wish to tour a slot canyon that’s more physically challenging and less crowded than Upper Antelope, consider Antelope Canyon Alternative Tours including, but not limited to:

  • Antelope Canyon X
  • Horseshoe Bend Slot Canyon (formerly known as ‘Secret Canyon’)
  • Cathedral Canyon
  • Mountain Sheep Canyon
  • Rattlesnake Canyon
  • Cathedral Canyon
  • Ram’s Head Canyon
  • Ligai Si’Anii Canyon
  • Wind Pebble Canyon
  • Waterholes Canyon
  • Wire Pass Canyon

Inquire at your hotel front desk or concierge, visitor information center, or directly with local tour outfitters for more information.

She has ridden the Grand Canyon mules, hiked rim to rim, rafted the rapids of the Colorado River (and the smooth bits, too), enjoyed many a houseboat weekend on Lake Powell, logged countless hours on both airplanes and helicopters, walked on air on the Grand Canyon Skywalk and frolicked in the blue-green waters of Havasu Falls.
